TCS NQT Advanced Section Questions with Answers 2023
In order to choose candidates for several profiles, including Digital and Ninja, TCS conducts the TCS NQT Advanced Section as part of its TCS ITP off-campus placement campaign. It is more difficult than the foundation test. Only 8 to 10 percent of applicants who show up for the exam are successful. 7.3 LPA is the package that is available through this test. The entire test takes 165 minutes to complete and is broken up into three section. Additionally, there is no negative points for incorrect responses.
The eligibility criteria for TCS NQT exam is shown below:
Full time Graduates from B.E / B.TECH / M.E / M.TECH of 2022 batch
Eligible Streams from UG/PG
All Engineering Streams.
60% throughout Academics in X/XII/UG/PG
1 Active Backlog at the time of appearing for the Exam
Overall Gap in Academic Career not to exceed 2 year
Some practice questions for TCS NQT Advanced Test are given below:
Question 1. A fast train takes 3 hours less than a slow train for a journey of 600 km, If the speed of the slow train is 10 km/hr less than that of the fast train, the speeds of the two trains are
60 km/hr and 70 km/hr
50 km/hr and 60 km/hr
40 km/hr and 50 km/hr
30 km/hr and 40 km/hr
Answer: Option 3
Solving this, we get x = 40
Question 2. A lady has to find gloves and hats of different colours in her closet 18 blue, 32 red and 25 yellow. The lights are out and it is totally dark. In spite of the darkness, she can make out the difference between a hat and a glove. She takes an item out of the closet only if she is sure that it is a glove. How many gloves must she take out to make sure that she has a pair of each colour?
Explanation: 32 Red gloves and then 25 Yellow gloves then she has to find 2 more for blue.
So she will make a total of :
32red + 25 Yellow + 2 blue = 59
She has to pick 59 gloves.
Question 3. After offering a discount of 12.5% on the list price, a product was sold for a profit of 12%. What percentage of the list price would be gained or lost if a discount of 25% was offered?
a) 4% Loss
b) 4% Gain
c) 3% gain
d) 3% Loss
Answer: 4% Loss
Explanation: Cp —-> 100%, Sp —-> 112% (12% profit)
But Sp is 12.5% of M.P => 12.5% discount
=> 87.5% of M.P = 112
=> list price = 128
25% discount on M.P = 25% of 128 = 32
=> 128 – 32 = 96 = S.P
C.P = 100 => SP = 96 => 4% loss

case after discount the price of the book is Rs.150.For last case total discount is
23.5% and the price of the book after discount is Rs.145.35.
Question 5. How long will it take 100 3D printers to create 100 models if it takes 10 3D printers 10 minutes to print 10 models? Fill in the right response quickly.
Explanation: In this question 10 printer print 10 copies in 10 minute
It means that 1 printer can print one copy in 10 Minute
so the 100 print is printed by 200 printer in 10 Minute
Because one printer can print 1 copy in 10 Minute so the time does not change
Questions 6. In a clock the long hand is of 8cm and the short hand is of 7cm. if the clock runs for 4 days find out the total distance covered by both the hands?
a) 1650π cm
b) 1648π cm
Answer: 1648π cm
Explanation: 4 days = 96 hours
long hand makes 1 round (i.e. 2*π*r) in 1 hour, so 96 rounds in 96 hours
short hand makes 1 round in 12 hours, so 8 rounds in 96 hours
Hence total distance = (96*2*π*8) + (8*2*π*7) = 1648*π
Question 7. In 20, 30, and 60 days, respectively, A, B, and C can complete a task. If B and C help A every third day, how many days would it take him to complete the task?
Answer: 15 days
Explanation: one day work done by A=1/20
work done by A in 2 days=1/10
work done by A,B,C on 3rd day=1/20+1/30+1/60=1/10
total work done in 3 days= 1/10+1/10= 1/5
Question 8. What number is it if 43 times of two digit numbers equal 34 times of two digit numbers and the total of the number and its reverse is 14?
Explanation: 43 time the no. And 34 time the reverse no.
43(10x+ y)=34(10y+ x)
430x+ 43y= 340y+34x
To solve this equation become
Sum of no. And reverse no. Is 14
X+ Y= 14 equation=1
To solve both equation value of x and y
X= 6 and y= 8
number will be 68
Question 9. Ayush can finish a task by himself in 10 days, but Sachin can finish it by himself in 15 days. The job’s total pay was Rs. 5000. How much should Babel be paid if they collaborate throughout the full project?
Ayush 10 day—— now 30/10=3 unit per day
L.C.M = 30(total work they have to perform)
Sachin 15 day——- 30/15=2 unit per day
so their ratios of work is 3:2
so Ayush will get 3/5*5000=3000
