### PRACTICE QUESTIONS

Some practice questions for TCS ITP Advanced Test are given below:

Question 1. Find the greatest number that will divide 148 246 and 623 leaving remainders 4 6 and11 respectively.

1) 20

2) 12

3) 6

4) 48

Explanation: 148-4=144

246-6=240

623-11=612

These 3 are divided by 12 leaving remainder 0 which mean 12 divides 148,246 and 623 leaving remainder 4 6 and 11 respectively.

Question 2. 1/4 of the tank contains fuel. When 11 liters of the fuel is poured into the tank, the indicator rests at the 1/2 mark. Find the capacity of the tank in liters.

1. 44
2. 36
3. 6
4. 8

Explanation: Let the capacity of the tank be x liters. Given, 1/4 of x + 11 = 1/2 of x. By solving we get the x value as 44 liters.

Question 3. A fast train takes 3 hours less than a slow train for a journey of 600 km, If the speed of the slow train is 10 km/hr less than that of the fast train, the speeds of the two trains are

1. 60 km/hr and 70 km/hr
2. 50 km/hr and 60 km/hr
3. 40 km/hr and 50 km/hr
4. 30 km/hr and 40 km/hr

Explanation

(600/x)-(600/x+10)=(3/1)
Solving this, we get x = 40

Question 4. If P : Q = 3 : 4 and Q : R = 5 : 6, then P : Q : R is:

1. 3 : 4 : 6
2. 3 : 5 : 6
3. 15 : 20 : 24

Explanation:
P:Q=3:4, Q:R=5:6, P:Q:R=3×5:5×4:6×4
⇒ 15:20:24
